Dr Michalis Mavrovouniotis is the Head of the Big Earth Data Analytics Department of ECoE. He received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Leicester, U.K., in 2008, the M.Sc. degree in Natural Computation from the University of Birmingham, U.K., in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Leicester in 2013. He has more than 60 referred publications (h-index: 24) and he is listed in the Stanford University World’s Top 2% Scientists List published on 4th of October 2023. His research interests include evolutionary computation, swarm intelligence, memetic computing, combinatorial optimization problems, artificial intelligence in dynamic and uncertain environments, and relevant real-world applications. Dr Mavrovouniotis is the Chair of the IEEE Task Force on Evolutionary Computation in Dynamic and Uncertain Environments, under the Evolutionary Computation Technical Committee of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society.
