SmartPLAIGO

Two of the primary elements influencing incidents handled by ambulance services are emergency call center triage procedures and ambulance response times. SmartPLAIGO’s primary goals are to improve a relevant department’s response time and optimize the handling of ambulance fleets. The ambulances’ exact placement plays a critical role in how quickly an incident is handled. This response time includes the amount of time that passes between when an emergency call is received and when the ambulance arrives on the scene. Regulatory authorities evaluate ambulance service providers based on their ability to reliably meet and exceed these critical response times, which might vary based on local conditions and available resources (Van Barneveld et al., 2016). Cyprus is used as an example case study.

Concept

“ Provide comprehensive, accessible and quality health services

The primary goal of the SmartPLAIGO project is to create and demonstrate the value of an extensive and intuitive platform that will enhance ambulance dispatching, boost the general effectiveness of healthcare services, and advance public health and quality of life.

SmartPLAIGO identifies several other countries that share the same challenges and could benefit from the successful deployment of this project, while focusing on the difficulties faced by the Cyprus State Ambulance Services, which is the only provider supporting emergency health care support handled by 112 (EU emergency call number).

This project aims to provide decision support tools for ambulance control centers, ambulance personnel, and hospitals through the use of advanced technologies such as AI-driven and evolutionary computation, GIS integration, and dynamic systems modeling. The inspiration and pilot site for this project is Cyprus.
