Dr. Athos Antoniades, is the Head of Research and CEO of Stremble which provides applied science solutions using a contract research business model. His expertise extends to designing and analyzing clinical trials with many projects under his belt. He is a published author with an average of 10 high impact publications per year. Dr Antoniades has a rich background with diverse experiences. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the university of Cyprus funded by Glaxo Smith Kline with focus on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and has extensive experience working on drug discovery projects. His leadership extends beyond research, as he is actively a consultant to the National eHealth Authority under the Ministry of Health of Cyprus. He is acting as an advisor to the president of NeHA on scientific and research matters related to integrating research infrastructure with electronic health records for both primary and secondary use of medical records. He developed a platform and set algorithms that perform interaction analyses on high dimensional genetic and phenotypic data detecting gene-gene interactions. He is playing an active coordinating and leadership role in several projects including CARDIOCARE as a work Package leader on omics enrichment for identification of novel biomarkers, CyprusGenome.org as Bioinformatics Leader, Comfortage as the Scientific Manager and co-develop project SmartPLAIGO as the IP and Exploitation manager. Through his career he has worked in industry including big pharma, biotech SME, academia and research organizations.
