Specific Scientific and Technological Objectives
Emergency medical services have a critical problem, namely with regard to ambulance dispatching and response times. The objective is to allocate ambulances as efficiently as possible while also maximizing navigation efficiency, fostering better stakeholder communication, and guaranteeing the overall efficacy of emergency response systems. Below are the SmartPLAIGO’s specific objectives.
Objective 1: Optimization of Ambulance Allocation
by developing AI-driven EC algorithms and models. These models will dynamically allocate ambulances based on incident location, traffic data, and emergency severity
Objective 2: Integration of GIS Technology for Efficient Navigation
by focusing on implementing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to enhance ambulance navigation, reducing travel time to emergency scenes
Objective 3: Design and Development of a user-Friendly Communication Platform
for emergency dispatchers, ambulance crews, and healthcare providers with the aim to reduce delays and errors during emergency response
Objective 4: Integration with SHSO System, AVARIS
ensuring smooth data flow and information sharing between SmartPLAIGO and AVARIS (Kyriacou et al., 2021a). This also will include integration of diverse data sources including incident reports, traffic data, and healthcare records, into a unified analytics platform
Objective 5: Development of training programs
for emergency dispatchers, ambulance crews, and healthcare providers. The aim is to enhance their skills and knowledge in using the new system, resulting in improved overall emergency response
Objective 6: Evaluate SmartPLAIGO effectiveness
through pilot case in rural region and professional drill in urban and suburban region
Objective 7: Facilitate effective collaboration
between research organizations/academia and industry through the mutual exchange of knowledge and resources, staff mobility
