The SmartPLAIGO Final Workshop was successfully held on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, at Aliathon Resort in Paphos, Cyprus, as part of the RSCy2026 Conference activities.
The workshop, titled “Presentation of Results, Pilot Actions, and Future Strategies,” brought together project partners, researchers, end users, and stakeholders to present the main outcomes of the SmartPLAIGO project and discuss its future use in emergency medical response operations. The event opened with welcome remarks and introductions by representatives of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, the Cyprus State Health Services Organisation, and the eHealth Laboratory of the Cyprus University of Technology.

The agenda featured a comprehensive presentation of the SmartPLAIGO project, followed by sessions on the platform technologies, optimization algorithms, system integration with AVARIS, and the main platform functionalities.

A key part of the workshop focused on the pilot actions and professional drill exercises carried out during the project.

These activities demonstrated how SmartPLAIGO can support ambulance dispatching, improve operational coordination, and strengthen decision-making during emergency response situations.

Feedback from end users and stakeholders was also presented, providing valuable insights into the practical use of the system and its potential for further development.
Throughout the workshop, participants actively engaged with the speakers, providing questions, comments, and feedback during the different presentations. This created a constructive dialogue on the future use of SmartPLAIGO, possible collaborations, and the continued development of AI-driven and geospatial tools for emergency healthcare services in Cyprus.
The project brings together Stremble Ventures LTD, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence as coordinator, the Cyprus University of Technology, and ΟΚΥπΥ – State Health Services Organisation , with the aim of developing innovative digital solutions for ambulance routing, emergency response coordination, and healthcare decision support. SmartPLAIGO is funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation under Grant Agreement CODEVELOP-AG-SH-HE/0823/0112.
