Riana Constantinou has been the Director of the Ambulance Services since 2017. She holds a Nursing Degree and a Master’s Degree in Health Unit Management, and she is currently a candidate for a Doctorate in Health Unit Management. Her professional career began in 2000 as a Nursing Officer at the Emergency Department of the General Hospital of Limassol. In 2011, she started teaching in educational programs such as “Rescuer for Ambulance Crews,” “Emergency Nursing,” and “Emergency Prehospital Health Care” at the Ministry of Health and various universities. Riana is frequently invited to health conferences both in Cyprus and abroad. She plays a crucial role as an instructor in specialized training programs for handling injuries and other emergency situations. Additionally, she often travels internationally to share her knowledge and experiences. Notably, in 2017, she received the Quality Leader of the Year Award from the Cyprus Quality Association. In 2018, she was honored with the European Leadership of the Year Award by the USA-National Association of Emergency Technicians. Furthermore, in 2020, she was recognized as the Woman of the Year by Madame Figaro, and in 2022, she received the prestigious “Dr. Scott Frame Outstanding Service Award – NAEMT USA” from the American Ambulance Service.
